The 2006 Redwings Memorial Handboarding Championships were held in inconsistent 2 to 3 ft surf at Point Panic,O`ahu.Contest organizer Mike Kliks allowed many heats to extend beyond their allotted time to give contestants a better chance to meet the three wave minimum.
There were many free-swim periods in between heats keeping non-contestants cool and calm while waiting for the contest to end.
The Grand Champion title was awarded to Point Panic regular Pedro Refuerzo while the 2006 Pro title was won by surf photographer Wyatt Tilloson.Both finals were very competitive.In the Women's Open Division Mealoha Hooten took top honors .Congradulations to all.
